    Soneva Unlimited is the only Maldivian AI worth quoting at the dinner-party level: a US$880-per-adult, US$440-per-child nightly supplement to the room rate (plus the ~29.9% service-and-tax pass-through) unlocks all 14 dining concepts, the 7,000-bottle cellar (Krug, Sassicaia, the lot), unlimited spa treatments, and excursions including the dolphin cruise. What does 'all-inclusive' actually include at a Maldives resort — and what does it not?

It varies sharply by property, which is exactly why this list exists. At the top end — Soneva Unlimited, Constance U-Premium — it means all meals at all restaurants, a named wine and spirit list (not just house pours), spa treatments, and selected excursions. Lower down the list you'll typically find one or two à-la-carte venues excluded (You & Me's underwater H2O restaurant, Sun Siyam's Islander's Grill at a 50% discount), a beer-and-house-wine bar rather than a published bottle list, and spa sitting entirely outside the plan. Seaplane transfers are never on-plan at any property we reviewed.

How much does an all-inclusive stay in the Maldives cost?

The AI supplement is on top of the villa rate. At Soneva Fushi the Unlimited supplement runs around US$880 per adult per night — on top of room rates that start well above US$2,000. At mid-list properties like Lily Beach or LUX South Ari Atoll, the AI is baked into the room rate and total villa costs start from roughly US$800–1,200 a night for two before tax and service. A seven-night stay for two — including seaplane transfers but before flights — typically runs from around US$12,000 to US$30,000 depending on property and category.

Does all-inclusive cover the seaplane transfer to the resort?

No — not at any property on this list. Seaplane round-trips from Velana International Airport commonly run US$500–800 per person on Trans Maldivian Airways, booked through the resort. OZEN Reserve Bolifushi is the strongest option if transfer cost is a concern: it's a 20-minute speedboat from Velana, no seaplane, no schedule dependency on daylight arrival windows. Kandolhu and Lily Beach also use speedboat transfers and are generally more accessible for late arrivals.

When is the best time to book an all-inclusive Maldives holiday?

December through April — the dry northeast monsoon — brings the calmest lagoons, clearest visibility for snorkelling, and the highest room rates. The May–November Hulhangu southwest monsoon is wetter but cheaper, and it drives the manta aggregations at Hanifaru Bay in Baa Atoll — a reason to specifically book Constance Halaveli or Moofushi in that window. AI rates are year-round, but some properties — Lily Beach's 35% discount through late December, Heritance Aarah's 45% off through October 2027 — make shoulder season the time to go.

How many nights should I book at an all-inclusive Maldives resort?

Seven nights is the sweet spot at seaplane resorts. Once you factor in the transfer cost and the daylight-only seaplane window (a late international arrival typically means an overnight in Malé), anything under five nights rarely amortises the logistics.
